The Toyota Cheetahs will be kicking off a brand new Super Rugby competition on the 26th of February 2016 when they take on the new team from Argentina for the very first time in Bloemfontein.
After nine years of sharing a Super Rugby franchise with neighbours, Griquas and Griffons, the Free State Cheetahs will in 2016 be the sole shareholder of the Toyota Cheetah franchise.
The new logo under which the team will be running onto the field is a compilation of the Toyota Cheetah and Toyota Free State Cheetah logos. The colours in the logo represent the Free State Cheetahs and the headline sponsor, Toyota.
