The Toyota Free State Cheetah players took to the streets of Mangaung on Friday in the first ever Amazing Cheetah Race.
The players visited prominent businesses and shopping centres in and around town, completing challenges in order to get a pass to the next challenge. The squad was divided into six teams of six with six players each who had to reach the final destination at OFM at the Vrystaat Kunstefees, on the campus of the University of the Free State, where they had to complete a special Currie Cup puzzle to determine who would be victorious.
The Blue team, led by Oupa Mohje was the winners. Dian Badenhorst, Louis Fouche, Aranos Coetzee, Benhard Janse van Rensburg and Junior Pokomela all whore blue Toyota t-shirts.
The aim of day was for the Toyota Free State Cheetahs to meet and engage with the fans whose support they need to win the Currie Cup again. The 2019 Currie Cup kicks off this weekend, but the Toyota Free State Cheetahs first match is on Friday, 19 July against the Blue Bulls in Pretoria. The Amazing Cheetah Race was also an awareness campaign for the coming season.
