On Saturday, two stalwarts in the Toyota Cheetah team were injured during the EPCR Challenge Cup match against Cardiff Rugby in Wales. 

Gideon van der Merwe injured his left ankle. He is going for surgery on Friday (20 December) and is expected to return to play after four months. 

Oupa Mohoje went for shoulder scans on Monday and Tuesday. The medical team will review the injury on 30 December, when the team resumes after the Christmas break.
