Biography

  • Mzwanelo Richman Zito is a South African rugby player currently playing as a lock for the Toyota Cheetahs.
    Eastern Province Kings: Zito began his career playing for the Eastern Province Kings during the 2006 Under-18 Academy Weekend. He was also included in the South Africa squad for the Confederation of African Rugby Under-18 tournament.
  • Western Province: He played for Western Province at Under-19 and Under-21 levels. Although included in their squad for the 2009 Vodacom Cup, he did not make an appearance.
  • NMMU Madibaz (2011-2013): Zito played for the NMMU Madibaz in the Varsity Cup, which led to a call-up to the Eastern Province Kings’ 2013 Vodacom Cup squad. He made his debut against Free State XV.
  • SWD Eagles (2013): After the 2013 Vodacom Cup season, Zito signed a two-year contract with the SWD Eagles before the 2013 Currie Cup First Division.
  • Carcassonne (France): Zito later joined Carcassonne in the French Pro D2.
  • 2023 Currie Cup Champions: Zito is part of the 2023 Currie Cup-winning squad with the Toyota Cheetahs.
