Banele Mthenjane is a talented South African rugby player who began his career with the Lions in the Pro14 Rainbow Cup SA and the Golden Lions in the Currie Cup. He made his debut for the Golden Lions in Round 1 of the 2021 Currie Cup Premier Division against the Pumas.

In 2023, Banele joined the Toyota Cheetahs.
